Heidelbot

At the end of 2023, a friend and I embarked on an exciting project to create a versatile robotic framework: the Heidelbot. This autonomous rover is designed with modularity in mind, allowing components like sensors, lights, and more to be effortlessly plugged in and put to work.

To bring this vision to life, we designed and 3D-printed a variety of custom parts and integrated an array of sensors and boards, establishing a robust foundation for the system.

One particularly fascinating aspect of the project was using an Arduino Nano to capture diverse sensor data and transmit it to a Raspberry Pi Zero W via an I2C interface. Equally intriguing was the challenge of designing a seamless plug-and-play solution for the modular components, ensuring simplicity and flexibility in operation.

The Heidelbot combines innovation and practicality, setting the stage for an adaptable and expandable robotic platform.
